A New Game Template Created for PowerPoint
I love creating engaging tools for others to enjoy. Although I am not a learned programmer, I like integrating Microsoft's Visual Basic into their MS Office 365 programs, specifically MS PowerPoint. Growing up, game shows were incredibly popular and seem to be making a come back via the Game Show Network (GSN). I have created a new game show type game template in PowerPoint that has built in Visual Basic scripts that integrate automated scoring and final game calculations. The new game template is based on GSN's "America Says". The game template is closely related and called, Students Say.
The game template is free and can be downloaded immediately. The most important item is when a person downloads the template, they must "Enable Macros" due to the Visual Basic scripting. If it is not enabled, the buttons and calculations will not function. The other unfortunate thing is that Visual Basic will not work on Mac's. I love Apple products but I wish their operating systems would allow the VB Script functions to be written and function. Maybe in the near future?
I hope you enjoy the template. If you have questions or would like to contact me, use the CONTACT link above. Also, check out all of the other PPT Game Templates I have created by clicking on the PPT Game Template link above. DOWNLOAD file (30 Second Timer).
**Side note - the game is built web based tools. You must use links and buttons in the interface. Also, when the game link is opened, select "download" in the top right. These should work flawlessly on any Windows OS computer. Remember, you must select "Enable Content" to run the scoring components and "Enable Editing" if you want to change the content to modify for your own needs.

Creating Interactive Games with PowerPoint
There is a page on this site entitled, "PPT Game Templates". There are many different styles and types of games that I have personally created for group settings. I have also created some of them to have Visual Basic coding in order to use the scoring options where an individual can click a button to add or subtract points from the game. I have included a sample game that has/will be used for a state conference. I hope it will offer some insight into what can be done to enhance the templates that I have provided for your use. Alabama Education Technology Conference
2019: Mobile, Alabama I have been presenting technology sessions and hands-on workshops at AETC since 2003. It is truly a great place to make new district and statewide acquaintances and learn new, emerging, and effective technologies for the classroom, teacher and administrators, as well as professional and personal development. I am very grateful to have the opportunity to present again this year. Moving the conference to Mobile, Alabama will be a great venue, especially since it is a cruise port and only a few miles to the beaches. VR in EducationVR is about bringing the experience to students everywhere at very little cost.
What exactly does VR offer us? A smartphone and a cardboard headset can experience free VR programs produced with 360-degree cameras. Virtual Reality is about bringing the experience to students everywhere at very little cost. |
It's A Small World After AllI love that the web makes the world fit into our living rooms, and even into our hands with phones, ipads, etc. For many years I taught a high school television broadcast. YouTube channels were created to archive our short films, school highlight videos, etc. (Lee Generals,
