How small is the world? It's a lot smaller when you know people are hitting or finding your website. One of the coolest things (in my opinion) is when you know people are subscribing to your channel or are hitting your page. The first thing one may ask is, "How in the world did they find my page from Iceland?". Knowing where your visitors are from makes you recognize how powerful the WWW truly is.
Clustrmaps, yes, it's spelled correctly, allows individuals to put in custom HTML coding on their web-page in order to see exactly where their traffic is coming from. It also allows the individual to opportunity to realize what they are putting out there is being seen by others so hopefully it will be done better and have an audience in mind so it is better quality. That is the goal of most media creators I would hope or think, quality. Although, Quantity seems to be more the rage now days...hits, visits, being viral.
Utlizing a tool like this allows an individual to physically see their audience, see which pages they are visiting, in order to recognize that content and frequency is also important. The worst thing to see on a website is "Last updated Dec. 29, 2014", a date that is nowhere close, but a FAR DISTANT PAST. An overdue update shows there was no consistency in the desire to keep continuing the site, or that the site is no longer valuable. Consistency, Content, and Creativity, are essential for repeat visitors.
I urge you to take the Clustrmap challenge and see exactly who is visiting your site and where they are from. Shrink the world around you; you never know who is watching.
